While hunting a field which is the site of an old plantation site in Louisiana with Ray, Buck and my brother Robbie,
I found the lock key hole cover shown in the picture attached. I am somewhat perplexed by the image on it. We
Have noted that colonial era covers frequently can be attributed to English Monarchs. The one in the photo attached
has the design of an eagle above a crown with the letter "F" below the crown. Unsure if this may be attributed to
England or European origin...Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for posting the image of this interesting find.
I have asked Paul to put this on the Weekend Wanderers website and this will circulate all over England
so I am sure that someone will have an answer for you.
It looks to me that it could be of a military origin.
